Resources to answer your questions:

  • What is the Nuffield International Farming Scholars program?
    • The vision of Nuffield International is to DEVELOP PEOPLE TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE IN THE WORLD OF AGRICULTURE.
    • Accepted scholars engage in a life-changing opportunity to gain first-hand knowledge from global experts, bringing home new ideas and a new ability to engage as not just technical experts, but national thought leaders!
    • The program has 3 core components over the course of two years:
      1. Participation in the Contemporary Scholars Conference: a week-long program in March for new scholars that introduces you to a worldwide network of farmers and agriculturalists, and draws you into a wider view of agriculture. Scholars consider trade and policy issue affecting agriculture internationally, gain a cultural and ambassadorial experiences, and develop skills in leadership at both a practical and political level.
      2. Global Focus Program: travel with 8-10 scholars from around the world to gain a better understanding of agriculture practices, policy, issues and innovation from an international perspective. Scholars can choose to participate in this 6 week travel in March/April or June/July. Each group travels to six to eight countries, including a stop in the US.
      3. Individual Study Topic: based upon their topic of study, scholars work with Nuffield to develop an individualized travel plan that takes them around the globe to meet with producers, suppliers, policy-makers, and others who are shaping the future of agriculture.
