Join leaders across the state in reading and discussing books in this exciting new series!  All discussions will take place via conference call technology.  There will also be an optional Google+ Community where you can continue discussions about the book and interact with other leaders participating in the book club.

The Facilitator:

Debby HermanLeadership Wisconsin is partnering with Debby Herman, PhD, of Pivot Consulting and Coaching in Madison on this book club series.  Debby will facilitate the live calls for each book in the series, and contribute to the Google+ Community discussions.

Before establishing her own coaching and consulting practice, Deborah Herman spent more than 20 years in organizational and leadership development in the non-profit and education sectors. She brings a cross-cultural lens to her work based on her background in Spanish language, literature, and translation and interpretation. Deborah Pivot_SMALLcompleted a PhD at the University of Iowa focused on foreign/second language politics in U.S. education systems, with a focus on the influences of race, ethnicity, and immigration. She recently completed the University of Wisconsin-Madison’s ICF-accredited coaching program and is a licensed DISC assessor.

Book: “On Emotional Intelligence,” Harvard Business Review’s 10 Must Reads
(Participants are required to obtain a copy of the book on their own.  The book is available for purchase online)

Discussion Dates:  All discussions will be held on a Tuesday from 4:30pm – 5:30pm.  Each discussion will focus on roughly 1/3 of the book so that readers can take time to read and discuss the book in its entirety over the course of three months

  • Tuesday, June 6th

Registration: There are limited seats available for this book discussion.  To ensure that you have a seat, please email leadershipwisconsin@ces.uwex.edu with your full name, email, phone number you plan to use for the calls, and a request to be added to the second book list. Registration is not complete until payment is received.

Registration Fee: In order to cover the costs of delivering the book club, each participant will be charged $18.00 for participating in the “On Emotional Intelligence” discussions.
