Laura is internationally recognized as a community educator and community program developer with a track record of success in building an enterprise from scratch, including the Hope in Tanzania Foundation. At Marquette University, Laura also had hands-on experience with all aspects of international academic program development, community service learning, and fundraising. Finally, working with Microsoft’s pilot Goodwill CTEC program, Laura coordinated five community-based computer training centers and also launched GCF Learn Free, the only free computer certification in the world.
Laura was raised on a family dairy farm in Grant County. She earned her BS in Rural Sociology & International Development at UW Madison. She has circumnavigated the globe twice with the University of Virginia’s Semester at Sea Program.
