Communications Director

As the communications director of a small state agency that works to improve the lives of individuals with disabilities, Joshua Ryf is responsible for the Wisconsin Board for People with Developmental Disabilities’ (BPDD) website, newsletters, and public education and awareness activities. The BPDD advocates for new policies and programs, and provides resources so individuals with disabilities can advocate for themselves. The BPDD also creates and pilots new models of service delivery and community supports.

Joshua was raised in Outagamie County and attended Appleton West High School. While serving in the United States Air Force, he was stationed in Okinawa, Guam and Florida. In 2007 Joshua earned a B.S. degree in communication arts from UW-Madison. Joshua volunteers as a racial justice facilitator for the YWCA of Madison, and he enjoys running, reading and camping in his spare time.
