Deanna was raised and currently resides in Wausau, WI. She holds a B.A. in Sociology/Anthropology from St. Olaf College, in Northfield, MN. Following her education at St. Olaf she held various employment positions with a mix of small, mid-size and large businesses located in Sydney, Australia, Minneapolis, MN, before returning to Wausau, WI where she currently works for United Way of Marathon County.

As Associate Director of Community Impact with United Way of Marathon County, Deanna focuses primarily on local human service efforts concerning Education. Her efforts center on conversations and initiatives aimed at understanding and improving Early Years and At Risk Youth issues in Marathon County.

In addition to Deanna’s daily responsibilities at United Way, she contributes to her community in a number of other ways. Deanna also serves on the Day School Ministry Board at Trinity Lutheran Church/School, the United Way’s Emerging Leaders Council, and as a mentor for Project Step Up, a program designed to provide ongoing support to local low income families to promote self-sufficiency, strengthen families, and reduce isolation.
