Group IX – Urban Issues Seminar
The third in-state seminar for Group IX was held in Milwaukee, November 7-10 to explore URBAN ISSUES. Through a variety of experiences, visits and discussions organized by seminar Chair, Jose Vasquez, Urban Development Specialist, UW-Extension, participants had the opportunity to:
- Experience the challenges/problems facing urban communities and identify emerging solutions.
- Expand upon the perception that people have similar abilities, needs and aspirations wherever they live or work…their constraints are different.
- Explore the urban/rural connection as knowledge and experiences are gained, then take the knowledge back home and apply.
While visiting a local business incubator, the Milwaukee Enterprise Center, participants heard from Joe Greco, President of the Village of Menomonee Falls. Pictured from left to right are: Jennifer Heaton, Doug Mueller, Casey Langan, President, Joe Greco. Standing Seminar Chair, Jose Vaquez.
